The Belmont Land Trust holds a number of conservation restrictions in the town of Belmont. The remaining open space in Belmont contributes to the beauty and character of our town. Since a 'conservation restriction' is a type of permanent easement given by a landowner that forever prevents future development on the property, landowners who have given conservation restrictions to the Land Trust have insured that their land will be protected from development not only for our enjoyment today, but for future generations as well.
An agricultural preservation restriction given by the Ogilby family protects Richardson Farm, where for many years the Sergi family has sold fresh corn as well as other vegetables and flowers to Belmont residents.
In addition The Belmont Land Trust currently holds several conservation restrictions that protect land bordering Concord Avenue west of Belmont Center. The picture below shows the view from Concord Avenue of a beautiful maple allee that is protected by a conservation restriction given by Anne Allen.
